Trailing suction hopper dredger »Hegemann IV«

Trailing suction hopper dredger

Hegemann IV

Description

The trailing suction hopper dredger »Hegemann IV«, with a volume of 2,450 m³, is the second largest vessel in the Hegemann fleet. The vessel functions as a split hopper; hydraulic butterfly valves open and close the two halves to discharge spoil.

This process allows the »Hegemann IV« to dump dredged material even in very shallow waters. The two dredge pumps can also discharge the dredged material up to a distance of 2 km.
