Trailing suction hopper dredger »Hegemann II«

Trailing suction hopper dredger

Hegemann II

Description

The trailing suction hopper dredging »Hegemann II«, with a load room volume of 1,400 m³, is the third largest vessel in the Hegemann fleet. The dredger has a jet system installed in the stern.

This patented equipment uses an accelerating injection system, allowing the vessel to work in depths of up to 11 m, to smooth the subsoil or, with more intensive use, to transport the sediment assisted by the currents. Its 716 kW dredging pump can discharge dredged material up to 3 km onto the shore.

The »Hegemann II« has 14 bottom flaps to discharge the dredged material at the designated dump sites.
