Trailing suction hopper dredger »Hegemann I«

Trailing suction hopper dredger

Hegemann I

Description

The trailing suction hopper dredger »Hegemann I«, with a load space volume of 2.500 m³, is the largest vessel in the Hegemann fleet. The dredger has a jet system installed in the stem. This patented equipment uses an accelerating injection system, allowing the vessel to work in depths of up to 18 m, to smooth the subsoil or, with more intensive use, to transport the sediment assisted by the currents.

The »Hegemann I« can be fitted with a mobile sifting unit to separate sand and gravel into the various categories required by the construction industry. The two dredging pumps can discharge sand and gravel up to a distance of 2.1 km.
